Notpla and Reaction Think Tank have partnered on a new article proposing how the international community can finally transition away from plastics to tackle plastic pollution, calling for honesty, natural alternatives, and the establishment of transparent benchmarking.

The Netherlands has implemented strict plastic regulations, with Notpla's seaweed packaging emerging as the first and only material to be recognised as plastic-free under the EU's Single Use Plastic Directive.

The Single-Use Plastic Ban in England, entering into force on the 1st of October 2023, prohibits single-use plastic items that are commonly littered and difficult to recycle.
